Project Engineer

May - August 2022 • Marion, NC

What I liked

Great place to work with lots of projects to do as an engineer. They helped guide me towards learning but still gave me freedom to do whatever I wanted to do.

What I wish was different

I wish I would have been given a mechanical engineer as a mentor to work under.

Advice

Get started early on the application process and check in on them frequently. Their onboarding process takes an extremely long time.

Software Development Engineering Intern

May - August 2019 • Round Lake, IL

What I liked

The company was very excited to have a new group of interns with fresh ideas. The employees were friendly, welcoming and helpful for professional development.

What I wish was different

I wish there were more opportunities to network with the other interns. It seemed like an events put on for the interns were kind of thrown together without much thought or communication.

Advice

Baxter is creating products that help to save people's lives in emergency settings as well as every day. This is a medical industry so do not expect to see your project on the market for at least 5 years.

Operations Intern

May - August 2018 • Deerfield, IL

What I liked

I loved the freedom I was given to take on new projects and find creative solutions.

What I wish was different

I wish I had been able to see more plants, instead of being stuck only in Northern Illinois.

Advice

I would suggest having open communication with your boss about what is going well and what is not. Doing this allowed my boss to help me when needed and change some of my projects to better fit what I was hoping for.
