Really welcoming team members. Any question I has was answered appropriately which suited me to focus on how my internship applies to the theory I'm learning in school.
What I wish was different
I only wish I knew more about my line of work before I got started with my internship. It could've provided me with a better idea of how to get started but the workforce at Barge had no issues with instructing me on the job.
Advice
Treat it as an educational experience and not a complete money grab. You can only focus so much on the job at hand if you're concerned about the dollars you bring home on the weekends.

Mechanical Engineering Intern

What I liked
Preformed the field investigation work on a project at a military base. Was able to "take control" of the project during the field investigation period and be creative in formulating drawings. Coworkers were very helpful with answering questions and atmosphere in the office is great. Barge sends its interns down to headquarters in Nashville once in the summer to meet other interns and present your summer work experience to company officials which was an extremely rewarding (and fun) experience!

Advice
Ask more questions! There is so much that can be learned in an internship so ask questions even when you think they may be unnecessary. No question is a bad question!
