Could not possibly have asked for a better company to have started off my engineering career with. The office environment at Axis is as friendly as can be and makes the typically dull life of working something to look forward to. The PE I work under has proven to be very knowledgeable and worked with me every step of the way to get me to the point of confidence that I have now. Came in knowing nothing and am now at least a decent young engineer. Another benefit has been the flexibility Axis has given me when it comes to my school / Army scheduling.
What I wish was different
I wish my office mate wouldn't have stolen that white elephant Super Nintendo. He will rue the day.
Advice
Know AutoCAD. It is the primary drafting tool used on every project here (As it is most places). Be open to learning and doing hand calculations until you really understand what goes into structural design.
