This job taught me so much about the fields of cybersecurity and homeland security that I would never have learned from within my International Affairs major, particularly how relevant data protection is to our nation's and other nations' overall safety in both the public and private realms. It also gave me a really incredible chance to develop my writing and research skills for work that truly contributed to the Center's director. Lastly, since the Center is placed in DC, I was able (as part of my job) to attend events at other think tanks, institutions, and on Capitol Hill which was a truly valuable opportunity!
