Internal Medicine Clinical Research Intern
June - August 2018 • Winston-Salem, NC
What I liked
I enjoyed the experience of using what I've learned in biomedical engineering classes outside the classroom and applying it to real world cancer treatment scenarios, diving deep into a singular problem related to radiation therapies and really exploring it to its full extent.
What I wish was different
I wish I had more of a chance to network and have personal interactions with people my age.
Advice
Research is a great stepping stone to medical school, but the rigor and intensity of the work is definitely not for everyone.

What I liked
I loved being immersed in the hospital environment. I was able to observe many different health care professionals up close. The clinical research realm was amazing, fast-paced, and hands-on.
