Clinical Internship

What I liked

I knew going into this internship that I wanted to become a doctor, leaving it however, I know that I am destined to become one. I shadowed the pulmonology department for the first week, following anesthesiology and sitting in on surgeries for the second. My time in the pulmonology department reassured me that I still want to work with lungs for the rest of my life, and watching surgeries showed me that I do not want to cut people open as a pulmonologist.

What I wish was different

I wish I had signed up to be in this fellowship for a longer time, because it completely changed my life in the best of ways.

Advice

Do not let money define your choice in doing this; money comes and goes, but this experience will forever be dear to me in my future accomplishments and career successes.
