Intern

May - August 2018 • Bolingbrook, IL

What I liked

I like the opportunity to see how an accounting team functions and seeing the separation of duties in action as opposed to just reading about it from a text book.

What I wish was different

I wish I would have had some kind of recurring task that I could become increasingly proficient at as opposed to working on various projects.

Advice

When interning anywhere it's a good idea to ask questions to develop the best understanding possible and to share ideas about possible improvements that could be made.

Therapy Technician

May - August 2017 • Elgin, IL

What I liked

I learned so much from intersecting with the other PTs, PTAs, and techs at the clinic. They are all incredibly welcoming and kind people. It was a wonderful experience and a great introduction to my future career.

What I wish was different

Honestly there wasn't really a bad part of the experience. Maybe I wish I would have been braver. I never took any days off and I definitely could have requested it.

Advice

Learn everyone's name on the first day, and brush up on your Spanish due to the patient population. Also ask questions instead of guessing, they are all more than happy to explain.
