Athens Community Council on Aging

Public Health Intern

May - August 2019 • Athens, GA

What I liked

This was a mandatory internship to complete my Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion at the University of Georgia. Since it was technically a class, we got graded on several different aspects of our job which was quite helpful when gauging future success within this field.

What I wish was different

I didn’t like that we were not allowed to accept payment (per the College of Public Health at the University of Georgia). All of the supervisors at the Center for Active Living were very kind and respectful of our service. 100% would recommend interning here just because of the wonderful staff.

Working for free will making you grateful for when you do earn a paycheck. It’s good to experience a true opportunity though.
