The office of New York State Assemblywoman Aravella Simotas is currently seeking interns.
Assemblywoman Aravella Simotas represents the 36th District in New York City. In office since 2011, Assemblywoman Simotas has worked extensively both as a legislator and staunch community advocate, committed to supporting women and families, students, seniors, small businesses and the environment.
During her time in the New York State Assembly, she has focused on keeping the economy strong, protecting survivors of violent crime, making quality education more accessible and affordable for students, and promoting common-sense policies to protect New York’s natural resources. Assemblywoman Simotas Chairs the Assembly’s Ethics and Guidance Committee and is Co-Chair of the NYS Legislative Ethics Commission. She also serves as a member of the Assembly’s Committees for Energy, Judiciary, Insurance and Ways and Means.
Interns will take on a wide range of responsibilities, including assisting the Assemblymember and her staff with policy research, constituent services, and communications. Course credit is available for those eligible.
