Asian Americans Advancing Justice - LA

Impact Litigation Paralegal Intern

May - July 2018 • Los Angeles, CA

What I liked

The people who worked there were passionate, dedicated, caring, and great mentors. They all loved what they did and believed strongly in the causes they were fighting for. They never hesitated in giving advice or help, but they trusted me enough to let me figure things out on my own, as well.

What I wish was different

While I did go to a few hearings, I wish I had been able to dive a little more deeply into the legal process. I focused more on research and background work.

Advice

Don't hesitate to apply as an undergraduate even though they mostly hire law clerks from law school. Everyone treats everyone equally, and you will gain valuable experience. It may also help to talk to some of the lawyers/law students about law school!
