I really enjoy helping students, as well as reading their assignments and watching them grow as writers. I also enjoy creating resources to share with my class on Canva. I believe my favourite part of the job as hosting Drop-In Labs and Revision Workshops, where I can meet with students face-to-face and address their questions and concerns live.
What I wish was different
I wish there was a way we could motivate more students to sign up for Revision Workshops. Only three signed up and one didn't show up.
Advice
Try to find ways to be a visible presence to your students throughout the course. I post weekly newsletters with due dates, online resources tied to the week's assignments, and general advice for that week.
