I learned so much about the political field and about working on a campaign. I got to work closely with the candidates and see how they handle certain situations. It was great working with a small team because I got to see the different aspects of the campaign and have a hands on experience.
What I wish was different
I wish the internship had taken place in person , rather than remotely. Obviously nothing could have been done about that because of the global pandemic, however, I think I missed out on a few valuable skills and experiences by it being solely online.
I would say to not be afraid to ask your supervisor if you want to do more or explore a different part of the experience. The worst they can do is say no, but they probably won’t. It is a learning experience and they want you to gain as much as you can, so they typically are more than willing to help you out with that.
