Being able to work in my field of interest and being able to grow professionally. Very interesting projects and ways to solve very unique problems in the water utility industry.
What I wish was different
More projects, and more variety in the type of projects.

Environmental Scientist / Geologist Intern

What I liked
I like that I have been able to make real contributions to projects, starting in week one. Arcadis does a good job ensuring their interns are in a position to actively participate, rather than just shadowing.
What I wish was different
I would have liked to have some kind of formalized program for interacting with other interns - I've felt a bit isolated at times.
Advice
Be patient. In consulting, it takes awhile to work your way up to the right niche - you'll have to pick up a lot of tedious tasks before you can graduate to projects that truly interest you. The most important thing is to be consistent and reliable, no matter the task at hand.
