Retail team lead

May - August 2022 • Yosemite National Park, CA

What I liked

Loved the location, happy with the accommodations, most of my coworkers were friendly

What I wish was different

HR gave me the award letter for team lead a month and a half late, and did not ever pay me the wage that was specified on that letter. Some of the managers of the Village store also tended to be unfriendly.

Advice

Living in Yosemite is what you make of it, and I wouldn't trade that experience for anything. Just know that the valley is a heavy tourist location and that is the kind of population you will be interacting with. Also, choose your position in Yosemite wisely, as the jobs are certainly not equal.

FP&A Analyst Intern

June - August 2022 • Philadelphia, PA

What I wish was different

I feel as if I was underpaid compared to some other financial analyst internship opportunities.

Advice

Try and meet as many people as you can in the company and learn about what they do. This can open up doors to future positions.

Marketing Intern

August 2020 • Magnolia, AR

What I liked

I love working in an environment that allowed me to work independently while having easily accessible guidance from the Aramark staff at SAU and my Regional Marketing Manager.

What I wish was different

I wish that I was able to have more time to work this semester. Being put on quarantine 3 times limited the amount of time I had to actually “learn” my position.

Advice

If anyone is interested in marketing, but doesn’t know whether direct marketing or the digital marketing is the route he/she wants to take, this position would be great! Working as a marketing intern for SAU Dining Services allows me to get experience with both tracks, which ultimately opens more doors for me in the marketing industry.
