I had so many opportunities to grow in my leadership style and receive constructed feedback from experienced outdoor instructors.
What I wish was different
I spent many days in the office working on various personal projects and objectives. I loved being out in the field and taking on an instructing role. This is were I found the most growth and value. I wish I could have taken more opportunities to get out and instruct.
Advice
Be open with your supervisor about your personal goals and desires from the internship. My supervisor made it their mission to make sure I completed them by the end of the experience. If you dig deep and challenge yourself, you will find this experience is worthwhile!
