What I liked
I liked being able to become immersed in the research in healthcare. It was cool seeing patients and learning about physiology. This opportunity gave me a better idea of what it's like being a medical provider that also conducts research.
What I wish was different
I wish it was a more structured position. There were a lot of things up in the air, but I wanted to be more focused on my specific tasks.

Be intellectually curious and ask your mentor questions!!

the cohort was super diverse, and the amount of differences in cultural background and experiences made the internship that much more enjoyable.

I wish it could have been in person.
Advice
You get out what you put in. This internship is amazing for networking, but that's something ones does on their own. The sky's the limit, it just depends how hard you try.

What I liked
I love the atmosphere and work environment Lurie Children's Hospital offers. I have always enjoyed any interaction I've had with any administrator, doctor, nurse, etc.
What I wish was different
I wish I could do something more intensive at Luries, or I wish they offered internships.

Advice
When working as a research intern it's important to try to develop your own ideas about the projects that you are working on, that way you may be able to sue existing data to test your own hypotheses.
