Congressman Andy Kim represents New Jersey's Third Congressional District in the House of Representatives. His 2018 election to Congress made him the first Korean American Democrat to hold federal office. That race, against a well-funded incumbent in a district that was more than 80% white and voted for Trump by six points, was the most expensive in New Jersey history. Until his recent victory in 2020, no Democrat had ever been re-elected from NJ03 since before the Civil War. Now, Andy is one of only a handful of vulnerable Democrats defending the narrow House majority, and politics is not a seasonal sport – our work starts now to defend Andy's seat in 2022.
