Anark Corporation

Solutions Engineer Intern

May - August 2019 • Boulder, CO

What I liked

Interning at Anark was a great experience due to the size of the company. Because they are smaller I really got to understand the dynamics of the company and learned a lot about how they operate. Also because of the size I got to know everyone fairly and felt comfortable asking questions about problems I was having.

What I wish was different

I wish that my internship had been a little bit more eventful. During my time there the products that we, the group of interns, were testing were receiving less updates than usual which meant there wasn't as much work to do.

Advice

Never stop asking questions and reaching out the full-time employees with questions about what can be done and how to do certain tasks.

Solutions Engineer Intern

May - October 2019 • Boulder, CO

What I liked

I really enjoyed the people who work at Anark. They were all very welcoming and made it fun to come into work. Anark has a ping pong table, so any time you needed a break you could play ping pong with a few other people. I also liked learning multiple 3D CAD software since I had primarily only worked in SOLIDWORKS before this past summer.

What I wish was different

I wish I had the opportunity to do more coding in JavaScript since most of my time consisted of searching for and logging bugs in the software.

Advice

Don't be afraid to take initiative and ask for responsibilities more related to what you want to do. It's important that you also are comfortable with going to talk to your coworkers if you have an issue or question about the functionality of the software. They are happy to walk through the issue/question with you, and it'll save both of you a lot of time.
