This is a great learning experience to see how nutrition, food science, and food safety interact with the government, industry, and academia. It is a very positive work environment with a skilled staff who will always take the time to answer your questions or provide more information. AFFI truly want to help you get the most out of your internship and succeed in your career field. There are also excellent opportunities to narrow what interests you the most through your work and attending meetings in downtown Washington D.C.

Do not be afraid to share what interests so your internship experience can be shaped around that. Also, take the opportunity to ask questions and get to know the people you work with because they have excellent expertise and are happy to share.
