I learned so much more having this internship over the summer than I could have in a whole year of classes. It was very hands on and I feel a lot more prepared to graduate.

Nothing it’s been a great experience.

Advice

Make sure to tell your preceptor what your goals are. What you want to do and what you want to see because they are very good at trying to make that happen for you.

What I liked

I am absolutely loving my experience at Altru Health Systems. I have had the opportunity to work with some fantastic people and learn so much in the process. I love that they treat me like part of their team and not just an intern. I actually get to do things that a real compensation analyst does on a daily basis.

What I wish was different

Advice

I would say to keep an open mind. I didn't see myself in this role before I started, but now I couldn't imagine not doing it. I am so glad I took a chance to get more experience!

What I liked

I loved being around people, especially when they were at a not-so-great point in their life. It was a great opportunity to turn people’s days around. One of my favorite things was listening to each and every persons thoughts and concerns, it helped me be an advocate for them when others weren’t listening.
