I liked how immersive the job is. It keeps you on your toes because you are caring for 15 kids at once and making sure that they are safe and healthy. I also liked how they have many opportunities to get certified in various aspects of the job. I got my BLS certificate along with any other major certificate you need for caring for children.
What I wish was different
I do wish the program was structured better because it was a chaotic summer. It felt very unorganized and we were constantly being told that field trips had to be canceled due to the lack of communication for the buses.
Advice
If you cannot handle the stress of watching 15 elementary school age kids then don't go into the field.
