All Hands and Hearts - Smart Response

About All Hands and Hearts - Smart Response

From the dorm room to the board room, leadership starts with service.

All Hands and Hearts is a US-based, 501(c)3 non-profit organization that addresses the immediate and long-term needs of communities impacted by natural disasters by engaging and leveraging volunteers, partner organizations and local communities. Our vision is to demonstrate the power and value of volunteer service through the tangible work done, the hope it brings to suffering communities and the transformative experiences it provides for volunteers.

It is completely free to volunteer with All Hands and Hearts, and we provide accommodation and meals. No construction experience is required - just a willingness to work hard for a good cause. Not only is a great way to meet volunteers from all over the world, but to lend a hand in times of need and to learn new skills. As we amplify our programs to meet the needs of communities around the world, it is volunteers like you who can shine a bright light for the affected communities. From mucking and gutting homes in Houston after Hurricane Harvey to building a school in the mountains of Nepal, there is a volunteer opportunity for everybody!

Our focus is twofold - to provide tangible support for the community after a natural disaster, and to provide a transformative and empowering experience for our volunteers. 90-95% of our staff began as volunteers as an intentional effort to maintain a positive volunteer experience. As a volunteer, you will be immersed into leadership and professional development opportunities inside and outside of the field as a potential team leader or base manager. Spots are filling up quickly, so be sure to apply today to join All Hands and Hearts!

“Volunteering with All Hands and Hearts was a great glimpse into what can happen when a group of like-minded individuals work together to help a community in need. I loved seeing firsthand how every outside donation was being used to purchase materials for roofing, sanitation, and window and door replacement. It was incredibly gratifying. ”
