The level of responsibility given to interns was beyond anything I or my friends have ever had. I left the internship feeling like I actually made an impact on the company.

District Manager Intern
May - August 2018 • St. Louis, MO
What I liked
I got to work in a middle level management job super early in my career. Because of this, I have so much to put on my resume from supply chain, HR, financials, etc.
What I wish was different
I worked 50-60 hours every week and a lot of that was on the weekends. I didn't have much of a summer and was always tired because of the odd hours.
Advice
The internship will teach you a lot and is worth it but don't expect to be able to make an impact or that the company cares about much more than profit. I suggest for a 10 week program but not a career.

Distribution Manager Intern
June - August 2018 • Royal Palm Beach, FL
What I liked
I enjoyed every part of the internship. The fact that it is very hands on and it allows you to take on various projects with autonomy is nice. It lets you learn from your mistakes and find out what works best for yourself.
What I wish was different
Only thing I wish was different was the in store phase to have experienced a little bit more of the management side.
Advice
Become comfortable with the idea that not only will you be handed important projects and issues to deal with at an early stage. But to expect failure, and problems to come your way and to learn how to cope with them to eventually find a solution rather than simply accepting the failure or issue itself.

What I liked
I liked that working at Aldi was really a work out. You have to be strong and fast and it really builds a lot of muscle. You’re timed at everything you do so it makes you constantly think of more efficient ways to get the job done.
What I wish was different
I wish there hadn’t been so much discrimination against co-workers of different racial backgrounds. I wish co-workers and managers were not allowed to openly disrespect each other. I wish it had been a more professional work environment. There were a lot of HRA violations.
Advice
Aldi is a great job when you’re down on your luck or really struggling. If you’re not planning on moving up the ladder then it’s not really a feasible job to do long term because it creates a lot of wear and tear on your body. But if you need a part time job that’s going to keep you fit, Aldi is the place.

May 2019 • Florence, KY
What I liked
I enjoy the training that they offer within Aldi. You are properly trained on all of the things that you're required to know in the beginning as well as with training videos every so often. I like the availability that I had being taken into account with my schedule. I also enjoy working with the other associates.
What I wish was different
I wish that the store was well staffed with more reliable employees. That's not always in the control of the employer, but it would be nice to not have as many call-offs from some associates.
Advice
Working at Aldi isn't an easy job; I take it seriously, as one should with any job. Doing that will better prepare you for the responsibility of maintaining a job. I obviously won't be there forever considering my career major, but it does provide great experience.
