Duties & Responsibilities:
Ensures physical security for protection of People, Cultural Property and Physical Structures of the Gallery.
Performs routine security patrols.
Procedural security to include enforcing the Gallery's key and security badge control policy.
Investigates and writes reports on accidents, incidents, suspicious activities, safety and fire hazards and other security related situations.
As a primary point of contact for both employees and patrons, it is imperative that a Protection Services Ambassador acts always in a professional manner.
Listens with empathy to employee and patrons' issues and concerns.
Reports all Art Incidents, accidents, medical emergencies, suspicious activities crisis or emergency situations, i.e. Fire Alarms to the Control/Command Center and as directed responds to these events.
Respectfully enforces all gallery policies to visitors and staff.
Other duties as assigned by on site Supervisors or the Director of Protection Services.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Security experience is required, prefer experience in protection of Cultural Properties, (Museums), Libraries, Hospitality Venues, and Hospitals.
Current NY State Security License required prior to start
Good working knowledge of security operations, safety practices in a business environment and enforcement procedures.
Strong written, verbal and oral communication skills.
Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
