Patient Care Associate

June 2023 • Albany, NY

What I liked

I am on the Pre-Med track and this was a great way to get acquainted with nurses, anesthesiologists, doctors, and more. As a PCA, it was my job to give the utmost care to patients. Part of my job was to take patients' vitals, change patients, help them with personal needs, document patient data, and more. It was nice to get the hands-on experience with the patients and nurses, and something I am definitely looking forward to in my career.

What I liked

I like having the opportunity to make someone's day just a little better, even if all it is is giving a sick child a sticker at the end of the day. It's better than nothing at all.

Advice

Look for jobs early, have a strong resume, and be punctual on calling back or interviews. I takes 120 seconds to make a first impression, so make the most out of them.
