Process Engineering Intern

June - August 2017 • Port Neches, TX

What I liked

I enjoyed the hands-on design and analytical work that I was able to do. I am happy to say that because of this internship I got a better idea of what being an engineer is like out of an academic context and learned so much about the importance of safety, proper documentation, team work, etc.

What I wish was different

I wish I hadn't had to work in Port Neches, as it is in the middle of nowhere.

Advice

I would recommend to future interns to seek opportunity within your role. You will be assigned projects, but if something interests you, don't be afraid to ask your supervisor to involve you in his/her other work. Push yourself out of your comfort zone and treat each day as a learning opportunity.
