What I liked
Great opportunity to have my school paid for by the Air Force.
What I wish was different
I wish I had signed a shorter contract for the same benefits.
Advice
I wouldn't sign a contract unless it's in a job you are interested in.

Electronics Engineering Intern
May - August 2019 • Hill Air Force Base, UT
What I liked
I liked working right next to the runway and watching the planes on my lunch break.
What I wish was different
There really wasn't a whole lot for me to do. It takes 80% of the internship just to have enough paperwork done that you can start working. So most of the time you stare at a wall.
Advice
Be patient. The work you will do for the Air Force will be amazing! It just takes a lot of red tape before you get there.

What I liked
My job was five minutes away from my house which was very convenient and it paid well.
What I wish was different
That I had more work to do. I was able to finish it all early and so had a lot of time on my hands.
Advice
If you can get a government job over the summer go for it because it pays well and depending on what it is the hours are reasonable.

AFRL Intern

What I liked
I got to experience the real AF research labs over the summer. I was excited that I could actually use my knowledge from college and apply it to the project that they gave me.
What I wish was different
I wish that I could have seen even more of the Air Force Base, but I will get to do that when I come back and work there.
Advice
I recommend getting started in research or an internship as early as possible.
