What I liked

I have worked at Aeropostale for three years and I love my coworkers and the management. My manager, Justin Thomas, is always willing to let me return to work during summer and holiday breaks. My manager prioritizes college students and always gives many hours as well as opportunities to do early morning shipment shifts as well as overnight floor set shifts. Throughout my time working at Aeropostale I have been promoted to a Cashwrap Specialist which means that I have manager functions on the cash register such as completing returns and counting tills.

What I liked

I absolutely loved this job, the people you work with really become like family. It was a major growing experience for me and taught me a lot. You deal with customers a lot which teaches you how to have great customer service. The job also has many leadership positions, so you are always being given an opportunity to step up if you would like. I started as a sales associate at the age of sixteen and was a manager (sales lead) by the age of eighteen.

What I wish was different

Advice

One piece of advice I would share is to be yourself in your interview and just be clear on what you expect to work or what hours you would like to work. This really allows your employer to meet your needs, so you aren't overworked.

I liked that I was able to look at different options and see what fit best for me. I also liked that I was able to narrow it down to what type of job I wanted and within a specific radius

The only thing I was different is more options of job opportunities to where I live

One piece of advice is to take advantage of these programs and fairs because it builds connection and help you in the future of your career. You build experience, , relationships, and knowledge.
