What I liked

Even as a freshman, I was trusted to work on assignments that were vital to the company and expected to perform in areas that were outside of my immediate skillset. Being pushed like this lead to a highly rewarding experience. Additionally, my immediate boss at their R&D department was a fantastic mentor.

Sales and Marketing Intern

What I liked

I was working on projects of real, immediate importance. In lieu of it being a small company, I got to know just about everyone on a first name basis ( including c-suite members!) and got to learn about all company projects, not just the ones my team and I were working on. I also appreciated that it was meaningful work - AeroFarms is a B Corp after all!

What I wish was different

Not a lot of commuting options - they just moved to a more central office, though, which is right near the train station so this won't be an issue for future interns.

Advice

Be a driven self-starter. It's a small company nobody has time to babysit. That being said, everyone is is so nice and always willing to help you if you need so definitely ask questions!
