Wastewater Intern
June - September 2023 • Orange, CA
What I liked
I really liked the support I had from members within my team which really helped make my internship experience immersive. This was from the start right till my last day which helped me grow both personally and professionally.
What I wish was different
I wish that I gotten to experience more site visits as I was looking forward to that but I understand the difficulty of that being an intern. I hope to experience this as a full time hire!
Advice
One piece of advice I would like to share is to always think about who you are presenting your work to. This is especially the case with a large company with AECOM who have multiple contracts with large clients. This includes double checking your work and always asking important questions. This ensures that the quality remains high from start to finish which is the mindset I developed during my summer internship experience.

Civil Engineering Intern
August - September 2020 • Oakland, CA
What I liked
Aecom is all about working together to create something amazing, and that was exactly how I felt there. It was a wonderful experience to work with professional civil engineers and learn many different day to day tasks of what I would do when I become a professional civil engineer
What I wish was different
I wish my internship was longer to gain more experience and make relationships with more people in the company. My internship was cut short due to covid shelter in place, which was unforeseen but still grateful for the time I had with AECOM
Advice
One piece of advice is always stay enthusiastic about your job, stay professional, get what you need done, time manage well, have a good attitude even when things don’t turn out how you think or want.
