AECOM

Civil EIT

May 2018 • Omaha, NE

What I liked

I like that my boss is open with me about my opportunities at AECOM and wants to make sure you have your dream job.

What I wish was different

I wish I would have taken more time off between graduation and my start date.

Advice

I would tell others to take some time off to enjoy themselves before jumping into a career. A mental break would have been nice between school and work.

Civil Engineer Intern

June - August 2018 • Baltimore, MD

What I liked

What I wish was different

Advice

At this experience, I learned that it is important to ask for more work when you finish a task. Especially at internships, I believe that you want to try to learn as much as possible, since you are trying to figure out what you want to do for the rest of your career.

Transportation Engineering Intern

June - August 2018 • Stevens Point, WI

What I liked

Throughout this internship I learned about the construction operations required to build a road and how to document the progress. Seeing multiple phases of the project and staying involved with the construction process really held my interest. I enjoyed learing how to use Civil 3d and the gps on site, and I hope to utilize that skill in the future.

What I wish was different

AECOM in Stevens Point could improve the internship program by adding more social interaction, a better company attitude, less stressed engineers, and better leadership by action.
