What I liked

Learning Opportunity: I appreciated the immense learning opportunity that this internship provided. Accounting for medical spinal sales involves complex financial transactions, and I gained valuable insights into the healthcare industry, medical device sales, and the intricacies of accounting for a specialized product line. Team Collaboration: Working with a team of professionals in the healthcare industry was a rewarding aspect. Collaboration and communication were essential, and I found the team to be supportive and willing to share their knowledge and expertise. Real-World Application: The internship allowed me to apply the accounting principles and skills I had learned in my academic studies to real-world scenarios. It was gratifying to see how financial data and reports directly impact the decision-making process within the organization.

What I wish was different

Automation: I noticed that some of the accounting processes could be time-consuming and repetitive. I wished there had been more automation in place to streamline these tasks, which would have allowed us to focus on more strategic and analytical aspects of financial management. More Exposure: While I had a great experience, I wished I had been exposed to a broader range of accounting functions within the company. A more diverse set of tasks could have provided a more comprehensive understanding of accounting in the healthcare industry.
