Working for a small engineering company is a hugely different experience than working for a big engineering firm. I was able to work in nearly every aspect of a geotechnical engineering job, including field exploration, construction materials testing, lab work, and report writing. I got to do similar work as a full-time engineer, and will go into my first job outside of school as the geotechnical engineer just below the principal.
