I got to learn how a large non-profit organization interacted with its community and how it handled issues that its community was dealing with.
What I wish was different
I wish I could have interacted with local members of the community more. Given the structure of the ACLU, it is not common to have walk ins.
Advice
You have to immerse yourself in any work you do and ask to do more if you are interested in something specifically. People will always be there to help you.

What I liked
I loved working for a cause that I care about.
What I wish was different
I wish I had been able to work on more projects of my own with funding. Hopefully, I will do that this summer.
Advice
Make yourself available. Employers will recognize your aptitude for hard work.
