Accelerator® Summer Business Immersion at Vanderbilt

Consulting Analyst Intern

June 2022 • Nashville, TN

What I liked

This program was great. You can expect to be super busy and learn a lot. You will be taught by great professors that teach at the Owen School of Management. While mainly consulting focused you will have opportunities to learn about many aspects of business including but not limited to finance, entrepreneurship, economics, and business management. But, potentially the best part is the networking. You will have the chance to meet many people in all different fields and talk and exchange information.

What I wish was different

I wish we had the opportunity to explore Nashville more. The weekends are fun, but you will be busy during the week.

Advice

Great opportunity, so try to take it seriously while also having fun.

What I liked

I loved the set up of Accelerator. In the mornings we were in class with Professors from the MBA school and we also had guest speakers. In the afternoon, we were with our team working on our project for the week. When we did not have campus dining, I really enjoyed the food that was catered. I also really enjoyed the comradery and all of the people that I met through the program. Those are connections that I will take with me throughout my career. Our teams were chosen for us and everyone really seemed to like the team that they were on. At the beginning, we get to know each team member and do bonding exercises that really set the tone for the duration of Accelerator. There were no major conflicts between team members. Overall, I really enjoyed my time at Accelerator.

What I wish was different

Sometimes I felt that the classes were very long or we would get bored working on our project, but it was nice to spend time with our team.

Advice

Go all in on this experience. Do not think that you are the best or the worst student in the program because, in reality, everyone is doing the program in order to get professional experience while also learning.
