What I liked
My position as a library assistant and records keeper at ALP was one of many opportunities I had to give back to the high school I attended. The work environment was very encouraging, conducive, and respectful. I valued the simultaneous emphases on efficiency and enjoyment. My coworkers proved to be authentic, caring individuals who genuinely delighted in their work and purpose at the school. Any question that arose was attentively addressed, and I felt that I was constantly surrounded by a safe network of teammates. As a result, I found that I looked forward to waking up for work each morning.
As a student, my experience at ALP remains among my most cherished memories. The teacher-student interaction promoted personal, healthy relationships, and in many cases it led to mentorship that I value to this day. The staff - every student could observe - truly cared about each and every student, and I continue to admire many of their selfless actions in retrospect. My sister, a fellow ALP alum, aligned with these views and consequently chose to return to Honduras as a teacher to repay the school for all it and its faculty did for each of its students.
Overall, ALP has proven itself to be a strong, lively, and yet humble institution where I would unhesitatingly send my own children, especially with its unwavering commitment to keeping God at the center of all its teachings.
