My typical day is spent in an office environment. Some of this time is with the students in the classroom presenting lecture material or participating in a lab, depending on my teaching responsibilities that semester. While in the office, I frequently work solo on lecture/course content or respond to department email (which I have quite a bit of!) Students drop in from time to time, as well as schedule office hour appointments. Student appointments are more heavy during the semester advisement period. Toward the end of the semester, the work load increases with expectations to complete student assessments and enter course grades.
