Former Merchandiser Castmember at Walt Disney World
over 2 years ago
First, students need to be personable. I had experience working in a sales role previously, but I believe my ability to get to know the Guests of all ages helped me succeed. Students need to be a hard worker; the hours can be long and Guests can be difficult. A student’s ability to push through a tough day with a smile on their day is a huge asset to Disney. No matter how tired, sick, frustrated or off you may feel, the ability to push through is key to success. Guests will love someone that is outgoing, knowledgable and makes their stay a positive experience. Knowing everything Disney prior to join the company is not necessary, but the desire to learn and grow your wealth of knowledge, is. Overall, being personable and having a work ethic is all you need to be a successful merchandising cast member.
