Many skills will be taught during the internship, such as using specific software and programs. However, communication skills (through e-mail, phone calls, and in person) and organizational skills are critical. I often was assigned multiple projects at a time that required time management in order to complete them by the time required. In order to prepare to become accustomed to Australia, start doing research on different language cues or specific words that might not be as commonly used in the United States. For example-
Email etiquette: such as greetings and goodbyes are expected to be friendlier and warmer than in the United States.
Slang: "fortnight" (every 2 weeks).
