While working at Walmart as a cashier may seem easy to the public, but it is a detracted job for the entire store. Management trust in cashier to do the right thing for making the company the revenue that it needs and not stealing a single cent for the company since even one cent is missing, it could cause a problem to the store entirely. There are employees who work hard on there jobs and then there are those who don’t do much work and are rude to the customers which is breaking the company number one policy and that is customers are always right.

The main job of a cashier is obviously ringing up and bagging items for customers. Customers are #1, so make sure to smile and great them and have a genuine conversation. Sometimes you can also be trained on the Self Check-Out registers as well. These are pretty simple shifts. You basically watch to make sure no one is trying to steal, but be sure to interact with customers. The best way to stop a thief is to “kill them with kindness” as they say. If someone knows you’re there and paying attention they’re less likely to do something. Just make sure to pay attention and smile!
