You should highlight any leadership or digital experience you have. As a Strategy intern I was very independent and encouraged to make my own decisions. The company had “hot- desks” where an employee’s seat changed daily and they could sit next to someone at any level within the company. With this interns are unrestricted, self motivated, and able to work in the absence of direct supervision. The internship program also encouraged interns to take advantage of this and introduce ourselves to 2 new people everyday when we find a new seat in the morning. Interns should also have some familiarity with current events in the media industry. They should also understand what media buying, planning, and strategy is and the company’s role in connecting their client with the proper audience through media partnerships.
