Former Visitor Use Assistant position at National Park Service

When it comes to highlighting qualities in an interview for this position, there is no quality i would value higher than money handling skills. “Visitor Use Assistant” is mostly just fancy language for “Fee Booth Operator”, and at the end of the day, the only thing your employer will care about is wether or not your register broke even at the end of the day. In addition to that, better-than-decent people skills are required. Due to the high amount of tourism that National Parks get, there will be people speaking every language in existence. meaning that not only is there the occasional rude customer, but now they might be rude in a language you’ve never heard before. Being able to work through language barriers is essential.
