Former Industrial/Organizational Psychology Intern at United States Postal Service

USPS is a very interesting place to work - in addition to my daily tasks, I was able to learn a lot about how the mail process works. Interns were offered monthly professional development opportunities, such as learning about emotional intelligence and improving presentation skills. I was encouraged to speak with a wide range of colleagues to learn about their jobs in I/O. My managers were developmental - they allowed us to seek out extra projects and to lead our own job analysis project, which was relatively complex, involving focus groups across the US. USPS interns don't fetch coffee or make copies - I was able to participate in research opportunities that had actual impact.
