I'd have to say that the candidate has to ask the questions that are most important to them. The ones I see as important to me are/were:
- What is the scope of the position?
- As far as video is concerned, who is the audience?
- How much of the overall job is concerned with actual journalism (this concerns all three disciplines)?
- How is this position going to help me on the path I want to follow going forward?
*having done many interviews before and after this particular position, I always try to have a few questions prepared, but also try to develop a few depending on how the interview transpires and how the details of the job unfold. I think it always looks good to have a few prepared, but also to be able to show that you can think on the fly.
