Former Sales Representative at Eli Lilly and Company
over 1 year ago
Life as a Sales Rep at Lilly is an amazing opportunity to learn about the position. Unlike other Pharma companies, Lilly offers internships in Sales which are very rare. The internship experience is ten weeks long; it starts with two weeks of intensive biological and sales training (both at home and in their headquarters), and finishes with eight weeks alone in the field going on calls with doctors. As a full time rep, you are expected to complete ten calls a day (which is reasonable) and success is measured using Tableau, Veeva, and BRT.

Before your week begins you must map out all your offices. Know which offices are closer to each other and which you should visit in the same day.
The day to day is lonely, you spend a lot of time in a car traveling to different offices. There is a lot of waiting for doctors to be available and getting to know the front office. There is also a lot of rejection, don't take it personally.
