The weekly schedule for an Editor in Chief at Odyssey is different for each community, but this is established early on with your managing editor. During my time as Editor in Chief, I started the week off on Monday with an email to all team members with any updates on deadlines, important information I received from the managing editor, topic ideas for the coming week, and potentially some shout-outs to writers who did any standout work that week. I then had my weekly chat with the managing editor via Google Hangout on Wednesday for about half an hour to discuss the week's matters. I also sent reminders to writers in the group chat a few times a week to submit their story by the deadline which happened to be Friday at 5 pm. Once it hit this deadline on Friday, I would send out individual texts to follow up with writers who did not submit on time. The goal was to have all stories edited by Sunday night, so they could go live on Monday. Be prepared to spend a lot of time editing between Friday and Sunday.
