Former Heliophysics Research Intern at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center
over 1 year ago
I actually did not have an interview for my internship. I only filled out an application on the NASA internships portal and received the project offer a couple of months later. However, most science interviews will discuss what your past research (if any) and coursework involved. Come with questions about the project/team that you are interviewing for. Science interviews are all about finding the right fit. They will give you the benefit of the doubt at the undergraduate level since specific knowledge is not assumed, but they do need to know that you have the skill set they are looking for (coding skills, lab skills, etc) as well as the desire and ability to learn the necessary material. Be prepared for a casual chat about science, and remember that the interview goes both ways.
