Special Education Teacher at Port Huron Area School District
almost 3 years ago
Life as a Special Education Teacher at PHASD was very difficult. You are not supported as staff. You are left to handle many situations on your own. They often do not have support staff available to assist in the classrooms. When a behavior issue occurs, the staff is usually blamed for not doing enough to make sure of the success of the student and the classroom. The Special Education classrooms are not supported by other teachers. The other staff in the building complain a lot about the disruption of the Special Needs classes and the use of the school equipment.
