Genuine compassion and care for your clients is paramount. Your clients are receiving ABA therapy because they have a set of goals that they would like to achieve. When you show excitement when those goals are realized and compassion when a client still has progress to make, the bond between Analyst and client grows stronger.
Adaptability is also key, as each one of your clients will have a different behavior plan and set of needs. Some clients may be nonverbal, some may be more prone to anger when they have difficulty with a lesson, and some may be more receptive to the structure of ABA. The ability to take these differences in stride will allow you to succeed in your sessions.
