Former Applied Research Mathematician at National Security Agency
almost 3 years ago
It's actually very difficult to prepare for an interview as a mathematician with the NSA. Of course, I can't speak to specifics about the interview process itself, but I would say that you should make sure to be prepared to speak to your favorite areas of mathematics and some results within that area that you find interesting. I would also be prepared to speak to your technical skills and experiences, as it will surely be of interest to the Agency. Finally, make sure you know why you want to work for the NSA, as almost everyone who works there does so primarily because they identify with the purpose and mission of the organization.
