If you've ever been a bank teller, what would you say are the pros and cons of this profession? Is there anything you specifically like or dislike?

Peak Time Teller at U.S. Bank

Being a Peak Time Teller has been great, as the position was only created a few years ago. It creates an in contract work schedule at around 18 hours a week. This allows me to balance work and class at NCC well. It also waves certain benefits for a boost in pay, which is perfect for me as I do not need the company benefits as much as the pay. I also love being able to learn more about the business field as a whole by being in the forefront dealing with the people who operate and reap revenues from local businesses.

Former Bank Teller at Wells Fargo

I liked the possible networking opportunities since I worked in an area of Pasadena that was near a dream job (JPL). From other coworkers who explored banking as a career opportunity, I saw tons of upward mobility within the company and many paths throughout it. Personal banking, financial officers, to private banking opportunities. What I did not enjoy, were the quotas to fill when opening savings/checkings/credit card accounts. I am not a salesman, and didn’t enjoy any part of it.
